DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE Program

• An alternative to the tournament league with a focus on building skills in real game experiences

• Open to boys and girls in grades 3-8th

• No evaluations

• School boundary based teams whenever possible for grades 3-5

• Play in the South Metro Rec League (SMRL) which includes teams from Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, West Linn, Lakeridge, and others

• Season runs mid November - March

• 1-2+ practice(s) a week depending on grade level and gym availability 

• Saturday Games in Lake Oswego and surrounding SW communities

• Concludes with end-of-season Jamboree 

• OSAA Basketball rules with some exceptions at the 3rd & 4th level

• Emphasis on building skills in real game experiences

• Playing time requirements for all grades

• Volunteer/Parent Coaches

Fees

• Player fees (paid at registration)

• Additional Skills Session Fee for 6-8th grade (paid via Team Snap after team formation)

• Official LYB Uniform (Reversible Jersey* only)

Refunds

• Full Refund if a player is not placed on a team OR elects not to play prior to team placement

• $100 Refund for a player who elects not to play following team placement but PRIOR to the team's first game

• No Refund for a player who elects not to play after the team's first game OR for games and/or practices cancelled by school districts, either Lake Oswego or opponents'
